HIGH SCHOOL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Grades 9, 10, & 11 meet twice a month on Sunday afternoon from 2:30-4:30pm. Grades 9 meets in the Activities Center Social Hall and Grade 10 meets in the Activities Center Assembly Room. Grade 11 meets in the Church Gathering area.
The 9th grade textbook is The Catholic Faith Handbook. The Catholic Faith Handbook is a comprehensive overview of the Catholic faith, in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The 9th grade will meet as one group with a team of four catechists.
The 10th grade textbook is Theology of the Body. Theology of the Body curriculum for teens helps them discover God's plan for love and their life. John Paul II's landmark teaching engages teens minds and hearts. The curriculum is both catechetical and evangelistic. The 11th grade curriculum is based on Catholic Social Justice and is taught by Deacon David Lapinski.
The Sacrament of Confirmation preparation beings in 9th grade and continues through 11th grade. Diocesan guidelines require a three year preparation for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.
