Middle School Texts, Grades 6-8
Faith and Life Series by Ignatius Press presents Catholic teaching using the time-tested ecclesial methodology and spiral development of catechesis, in a beautiful, student-friendly, comprehensive format. This program is used for our students in middle school. Each grade level will have a supplemental program to accompany this text.
Lectio Divina (Divine Readings)
Our sixth grade students will be able to take a more active role in their prayer life and the bible by completing short bible readings with prayer and scripture each class.
Encounter
Encounter is an 8 week supplemental program from Ascension Press used to present the bible to our 6th grade students in and engaging and memorable manner.
7th grade students will spend 8 weeks learning about their hearts and why they were created: All hearts, especially the hearts of young people, are hungry for God’s truth about love, identity, and dignity.
A parent guide will be provided.
8th grade students will have discussions about their Catholic faith and the existence of God.
