CATECHISTS

ARE YOU CALLED TO BE A CATECHIST? 
A catechist must be a confirmed, practicing Catholic who are at least twenty-one. A catechist is a person with a positive attitude and willingness to share their faith with our children and youth. Responsibilities include attendance at catechist meetings, class preparation time,and  presence at every class.  In addition, catechists must complete the Youth Protection Program with the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown to work with children: Youth Protection Information Page

A catechist aide must be a confirmed, practicing Catholic who is at least sixteen.  A catechist aide is a person with a positive attitude and has a willingness to share their faith with our children and youth. Responsibilities include attendance at catechist meetings, presences at every class and assisting the head catechist.  In addition, a catechist aide who is 18 years of age must complete the Youth Protection Program with the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown to work with children (click the Youth Protection Information link to the right).
